Mission

Phenomenal Women is a non-profit organization dedicated to uplifting all Black women to reach their fullest potential. The Black Women Fund has been established to provide essential support and resources to empower and uplift Black women to meet their basic needs and achieve stability.

Overview of the Fund

The Black Women Fund is a financial assistance program designed to prioritize support for the basic needs of Black women. The fund aims to assist with essential expenses such as bill support, daycare costs, housing assistance, and other critical needs to ensure the well-being and stability of Black women in our community. Your donation can make a meaningful impact on the lives of those in need.

How the Fund Works

Selection Process

  1. Application: Interested individuals can apply for the fund by submitting an online application form detailing their basic needs and financial challenges. (We are not accepting applications at this time; the effective date is TBD.) We are currently only processing donations.
  2. Review Committee: A dedicated selection of three (3) board members, chosen at random, will evaluate the applications based on the urgency of the needs, financial hardships faced, and the impact of the assistance on the applicants' well-being. Committee members will respond via the request email with their decision.
  3. Selection Criteria: Applicants will be selected based on the severity of their basic needs, financial challenges, and the potential impact of the fund's assistance on their stability and well-being.

Distribution of Funds

  1. Once the selection process is complete, applicants will be notified and provided with the necessary documentation to receive the funds for their basic needs within 48 hours.
  2. Funds will be disbursed directly to service providers or vendors on behalf of the recipients to cover the specified basic expenses.
    1. When it is unfeasible to fund the service provider directly, funds will be issued to the recipient via a payment platform of their choice, such as PayPal, Zelle, etc., and proof of financial need, such as a copy of the bill, will be required before funds will be released.
  3. Recipients will be encouraged to provide feedback on the impact of the assistance received and any additional needs that may arise for ongoing support.

Tracking Effectiveness

  1. Recipients will be interviewed and/or surveyed on how the funds have been utilized and the impact on their stability and well-being.
  2. Assessments will be conducted to measure the fund's effectiveness in addressing the basic needs of Black women and promoting stability and empowerment within the community.
  3. Recipients can provide feedback on their experience with the fund to improve and refine the program for future participants.
